The Inaugural Tom Kleckley Dinner for Scouting

The Scouting units of Zion Lutheran Church are holding a dinner to honor long time Boy Scout leader and supporter Tom Kleckley. The dinner will be held at the church’s Family Life Center on Saturday, May 11, 2019.Doors will open at 6:30 with a steak and grits dinner served. The program will start at 7:30 and the public is invited to attend. Tickets are $15 per person or $40 for a family and can be purchased here or at the church. The dinner will honor Mr. Kleckley’s tremendous impact on Scouting at Zion as a founding adult leader of Troop 425 and also recognize his long time service to Lexington County Sherriff's Department Arbitration Program, the Pineview Ruritans Club, Lutheran Men in Mission, Zion Lutheran Church and the entire Lexington community.
This dinner will also initiate an annual effort to raise funds to assist the Scouting units at Zion Lutheran Church. Zion has a long and proud history of supporting scouting and currently charters a program which has over 125 boys and girls in its various units, including the newly formed Scouts BSA troops. Proceeds of the dinner, along with any donations, will be used for overall program support and for upkeep and expansion of the Nita and Dwight Corley Scout Lodge which is used for unit, district and council scouting events.
